Strong winds can be a nuisance for bottle gardening (Willem)

Result of one windy night…but it looked worse than it was - I managed to recover most of the plants and lost only a clay plant pot which broke.

Strong winds can be a terrible nuisance, indeed.  Therefore, I intend to put my plastic (PET) bottles or party cups in plastic shopping bags, partly filled with sand.

I will roll the edge of the plastic bags outside down to reach the optimal height (just above the level of the sand) and dig in the bottles or cups in the sand.  The number of bottles or cups has to be adapted to the dimensions (diameter) of the plant species (just like we decide with grow bags).  I hope this cheap solution will control the instability problem under heavy winds.
