Some of you may have been wondering what happened since June 28th, as no more new postings were published on this blog. Here is the reason why : someone complained about a copyright violation.
Today, I received the following message of the WORDPRESS administration:
We received a valid DMCA Notice (…………….URL deleted) for the following material found on your WordPress.com site:
(……………………………. URL deleted)
If you do not have the legal rights to distribute the file/content/material, you are required to delete the post(s) or content(s) and let us know when this has been done. The removal will then be verified, and the site will be returned to normal.
Republishing the content without permission of its copyright holder – or continuing to publish material that results in DMCA notices – will result in a permanent blog suspension. Publishing such material is a direct violation of our Terms of Service (http://wordpress.com/tos/), which you agreed to upon registration.
If you wish to formally challenge this DMCA notice, we will be happy to provide you with the details you need.
Here is my answer :
Thanks for informing me about this problem. It goes without saying that I immediately deleted this posting.
I am terribly sorry about this.
As everyone can see on my blog, I am never republishing an article in its totality. I am only republishing a part of it to give my visitors a clear idea about the content (which is not always clear from the title alone), and I add always the word (continued) at the end in order to invite the readers to go to the link indicated.
In fact, in doing so I am making publicity for the publication and I stimulate my readers to go to the link to read more of it.
Being a retired university professor, it should be clear that I do not have any commercial objectives with my blogs. I only want to help interested people to information about valuable publications in their field of interest.
I have several WordPress accounts (blogs) and this “copyright violation” is really exceptional :
I hope you will understand that I am rather astonished about this “violation” and I hope that the removal of that partial post will be sufficient to have my blog put back to normal as soon as possible.

With great pleasure I noticed that my container gardening blog was almost immediately put back to normal. It was confirmed with this swift reply :
“Yes, we certainly understand! Your site should be back to normal and may be used again as expected.
I promise to do my best to catch up the delay as soon as possible. Let us hope that comprehension and trust will make complaints about any form of violation in our beautiful world of container gardening unnecessary.
Thanks you for the interest in my blog and for your confidence.
I COULD NEVER BE A COPYRIGHT HOLDER MYSELF : WHATEVER I WRITE AND PUBLISH IS TOTALLY FREE FOR ALL LIVING BEINGS. THE MORE THAN 750.000 VISITORS OF THIS BLOG MOST CERTAINLY APPRECIATE IT, WITH ONE OR TWO EXCEPTIONS PERHAPS.
