Container gardening in the Metro and places most suitable for this type of gardening

EXCERPT

Container gardening has proved to be a boon to those living in Metros in much smaller places with absolutely no garden space at all. Previously people thought of only two major things whenever they spoke about gardens; farm land and soil. They never imagined that they could grow their own gardens even in Metros right in their limited living spaces from the comfort of their apartments; thanks to the concept of container gardening that has become so popular today.

Places ideal for container gardening

People can grow flowers, fruits, vegetables, herbs, or anything at all in containers right in their doorstep, terrace, deck, staircase, porch or lanai.

Container gardening can be happily located at any place either outside the house or inside in places that receive good amount of sun light during the day. Light is the primary factor to be considered when one is looking out for a good location for their container garden.

Some of the popular containers used for growing container garden

From the name itself you can understand that this type of gardening uses containers instead of the landed surface for growing plants. Some of the regular containers that are sold in the garden stores are pots, planters, window boxes, etc. But if you wish to do something unique you could choose some of the old discarded stuff lying in the basement or the garage such as barrels, wheel barrows, old zinc or copper pots, crocks, baskets, and peat moss containers.
