Basic essentials required and some of the locations ideal for container gardening

What exactly is container gardening?

Container gardening simply means growing plants in any container that can hold soil and this concept is almost as old as our civilization and was in vogue during the Egyptian and Roman times. Again in the 50’s it sprung up to prominence in California in the USA when people there living in not only small apartments but also large estates turned to container gardening and thus began its growth in the modern era.

Container gardening best suits those who are constrained for garden space since this type of garden can be grown almost anywhere and in almost anything. It needs very little space and not much effort but adds a lot of beauty and freshness to the dwelling space.

All that is needed for a container gardening is appropriately sized containers, good soil and seedlings, water, light, right temperature, compost, a lot of love and some care and grooming in between.
